Winter motorcycle preservation

How to prepare a motorcycle for winter?

Proper preparation of the motorcycle for storage includes several steps that involve the replacement of some consumables, including oil, brake fluid.

1. Can the fuel system. The fuel contains moisture. When you change the temperature there is condensation. Think about high-quality antifreeze. Remember: you cannot drain from the system coolant before storage! Check the minimum winter temperatures in your region.
2. Can the cylinder-piston group. Motor oil contains additives drop down into the sediment. And the cylinders always communicate with the damp atmosphere through one of the valves. 
3. Think about the storage engine and suspension. Be sure to remove the plugs. In holes from which removed the candles, spray the repellent evenly, creating a corrosion film. Replace grease in all the suspension parts and motor. 
4. Can the surface. Unprotected paintwork, chrome and rubber seals are subject to damage. If they are not protected, in the spring need to be replaced. Particularly affected are the moving parts, for example, feathers plugs, lock. The covering surface covers for the winter – a controversial topic. Because in some circumstances, the cover retains moisture. 
5. Check the rubber and plastic elements. Walk through the wiring to the saddle, pads with silicone spray that you can buy in specialized stores. Such action will protect the wiring from decay and will prolong the parts life.
6. Take care of the wheels and their storage. To rubber is not spoiled, a little lower tire pressure or place your motorcycle is raised, so that the wheels are not in contact with the floor. So you eliminate the possibility of deformation of the tire and the cord.
7. Charge the battery once a month.

- Check the drive (belt, chain)
