KOMAHA Custom Motorcycle

Once again, we had a Yamaha donor for our project, but this time – Yamaha VMX-1700. The few components left unchanged - frame, shock absorbers (including the front fork) and brake system, the latter having only minor touches like shifted line and some new hoses.

Custom Culture experts have designed the concept in line with the client’s idea and demands, and one of them was a larger fuel tank. Aluminum is always a good option to build a motorcycle body, since it decreases the bike’s weight, but it complicates the manufacturing process at the same time. To enhance reliability of the motorcycle even further, the support framework was made of aircraft quality aluminum of D16T and similar grades. The resulting fuel tank grew from 15L to 22L. Some elements have been reconstructed, wiring has been changed. To help the rider reach this or other component, many of them, for example, fuse box and shock absorber control unit, have been shifted.

To make the bike’s design bolder we’ve replaced its control panel with Motogadget ECU, but left all the original ports intact to link up to the motorcycle in case the rider needs to read the data or make the electrical diagnostics. The custom now features new 240Х40Х18 rear wheel to improve the adherence, K&N air filters, BAZZAZ injection control unit, direct flow exhaust manufactured by CCU.

The HELLA Bi-Led headlight is integrated in a matt black regulated nacelle by CCU, handlebar has been replaced with clip-ons by Rizoma to add up to the bike’s impeccable styling. The bike is powered by a 16-valve 4-cylinder 1700cc engine and propelled by 170Nm of torque; it accelerates from 0 to 100kmh in just 2.5 seconds. Along with Motogadget turn signals, accessories by Italian brand Rizoma complete the look – gas cap, mirrors, pegs, grips.

Some elements had to be handmade, like pegs adaptors, levers, license plate holder, thermostat housing, radiator box and front fender.

Now that our experts have finished all the necessary tests and drives, the bike’s powerful and sophisticated performance really gives our dear client a unique experience!
